Harry Nelson has been a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Carrollton Georgia, where he attends regularly with his wife Becky and children Jacob, Anna and Elizabeth. He is an alumni of UWG where he met his wife, studied music, and sang in the university Concert Choir, and Opera Workshop. It was at this time that he started his longstanding commitment of service as a cantor for Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Harry graduated with bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance in 1998 with a minor in Voice. He went on to earn a master’s degree in classical guitar performance from UGA in 2010, and a doctorate in Public Administration from Valdosta State in 2018. He began working at the University in November 2008, and has worked in both administrative and instructional roles. He and his wife both work at the university, and have a special interest in Autism Awareness in the community, and broader disability and special needs awareness as a mission of the church. Harry is proud to serve the Catholic community on campus as the faculty/staff advisor for the student group Campus Catholics at UWG.
