We are each called to help build a just society, to live lives of holiness, and to serve the most vulnerable. At the Catholic Center we work to proclaim in word and deed that human life is sacred, and the dignity of the human person is the foundation for a moral society. Join us each month as we work with organizations such as the St. Vincent de Paul Society, CRS, Habitat for Humanity and other groups to better our local community. See the calendar of events for more details.
Join us as we answer the call to serve the needy of our community, by volunteering a few hours each month with our Senior Food Pantry. The second Tuesday & Wednesday of each month we distribute supplemental food baskets to senior citizens experiencing food insecurity. The Senior Food Pantry works to improve the health of low-income persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. Contact Student Leader, Lily Welter for more information.
Join us every Tuesday afternoon from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. as we volunteer our time and talent at the Strong House located at 304E Columbia Drive, Carrollton. The Strong House is dedicated to building up at-risk youth to become physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually stronger in Christ.
The Strong House Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on improving the youth in the West Georgia area, focusing on children who are at-risk of juvenile delinquency. Through early intervention, the Strong House will work to redirect the paths of these children with love, encouragement, and support by providing academic tutoring, bible study & Christian leadership, and group activities.
This a wonderful opportunity to be a Christian role model and mentor. Contact Sean Stassie at sean.stassie@uwgcatholic.org, Director of Campus Ministry for more information.
